REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) FOR MINI-DOCUMENTARY FILM EPISODE
FOR THE MY OZARKS SERIES

Ozark Vitality is seeking an accomplished digital filmmaker, with a proven track record in producing high-quality documentary style videos, to lead the development of Episode 5 of the My Ozarks series.

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: TOURISM DIRECTOR

The Tourism Director will work primarily throughout the eastern Missouri Ozarks (south central to south east Missouri) to facilitate regional brand strategy development & governance for the organization’s tourism expansion project for economic recovery in small towns hit by major flooding in 2017, partially financed by the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration. This is a full time, salaried position that is contingent upon the receipt and continuation of grant funding and requires frequent daily commutes of 1-4 hours throughout the region with overnight stays approximately 2-4 nights per month. Tourism Director must be willing to reside in the eastern Missouri Ozarks area, near one of the following communities: Ste. Genevieve, Perryville, Farmington, Fredericktown, Poplar Bluff, Doniphan, Van Buren, or West Plains. Relocation assistance is not available.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate regional brand strategy development & governance

  • Help select and work with contracted filmmakers to produce short documentary films, handling all aspects of project management, identifying the stories to showcase, and overseeing production of each episode in the series

  • Monitor and measure impact of brand content and tourism marketing campaigns

  • Serve as coach to digital media content producers in digital marketing, sales, social media strategy, and soft skills

  • Oversee internship/apprenticeship programming and social media and digital promotions

  • Lead fundraising and sponsorship efforts to sustain the effort beyond the 2-year funding program

  • Assist the program director with the development of community-based educational programming and learning opportunities for local digital media producers

Required Qualifications:

  • Professional presentation

  • Marketing strategy and campaign management experience, preferably tourism-related

  • Social media management experience

  • Project management experience

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Willingness to travel throughout the Ozarks of Missouri and Arkansas and have reliable transportation

  • Experience and background in community development, tourism, fundraising, and related work

  • Develop community-based educational programming and learning opportunities for local aspiring digital media producers, during production of short documentary films directed by established filmmakers from outside the area

  • Develop processes and operating procedures leading to successful completion of project scope of work

  • Oversee hiring and onboarding of other project roles, including recruitment of employees and requests for proposals for contract work, e.g. filmmakers

  • Monitor and measure progress/outcomes against project objectives, and grant requirements

    Develop and execute fundraising and sustainability strategies for the program, beyond the grant period
