The region we support

The Ozark Plateau is a geographical region prized for its ecological diversity and beautiful landscapes. The region is known for its rugged terrain, oak-hickory-pine forests and cedar glades, clear meandering rivers and streams, and Karst topography with springs, caves and sinkholes. So exactly where are the boundaries of The Ozarks? Along the edges, The Ozarks begin to blend into the surrounding regions, so it isn’t always clear. What’s exciting about the edges, though, is that it is where the greatest diversity exists. This is not just true of The Ozarks, but anywhere that two or more ecoregions come together. If a community in or near the Ozark Plateau self-identifies as being part of The Ozarks, we would agree!
